A real world education

Whysup deliver a powerful message within education and are uniquely positioned to captivate those we work with.

Covering many of the issues young people will face from a first hand perspective and sharing our own experience provides an opportunity to educate outside of the typical academic approach.

We have worked in mainstream schools, alternative provisions/PRU’s, colleges and universities. We work with students, staff and parents.

PRESENTATIONS

Any audience, any environment

We can work with a whole school or year group down to small focused groups and class sizes. Our message is impactful and a hugely important one.

Mentoring

For young people at risk of heading down the wrong path, we offer 1-1 and group mentoring sessions. We work with mentees to identify the risks that they are most susceptible to and help them to understand the importance of making better decisions.

Activity-led Sessions

Getting out the classroom, for both staff and students, can be a great way to deliver a message. We are passionate about the link between  physical and mental health and believe this is a great way for us to work on them both.

VIRTUAL SESSIONS

All of the above can be delivered virtually over zoom or MS Teams. This can be a great way to get people together, regardless of location.

TRAINING

Prevention, awareness and understanding

We also offer training sessions to enable staff to recognise and support a young person who is struggling with their mental health or at risk of engaging in undesirable behaviours.

Training senior leadership, staff or safeguarding leads has been something we never envisaged but has been a really important part of our work over the last 3 years.

If you would like to know more about what we can offer please get in touch.

WELLBEING WITH WHYSUP

Wellbeing has been around for some time, but simply talking about it is not enough anymore.

Working environments have changed, teams are now working differently and interaction has been impacted. A person’s professional performance is dramatically affected by what is happening out side of their working hours and what they are experiencing personally.

Our positive & practical monthly wellbeing program, Wellbeing with Whysup, can help you and your employees to promote good wellbeing, to encourage open discussion and offer support.

We have had the privilege of watching them work with whole year groups, class groups and individuals.

They have an innate ability to connect with students, to engage them and to make them think about their own life choices and the challenges they are facing.

The approach that they take is honest, hard hitting and supportive in equal measure.

As an organisation Tailored Education would have no hesitation in recommending “Whysup”, they have worked alongside us in schools and their passion is amazing, they offer an interactive awareness service targeting and engaging young people before the addiction illness takes hold of them. Mark and Liam are not counsellors, they are, however, people who have experienced addiction and have come through it changing the perception of this illness.

Alison Saunders, Director
Tailored Education

Mark and Liam visited Oakfield to present to students about addiction awareness. Students were thoroughly engaged and intrigued listening to real life stories of addictions. Mark and Liam commented that they had a fabulous day presenting and engaging with some bright students.
